The paint colour chart link Rhys mentioned is:
http://www.clubvw.org.au/colour_identification.htm
There are two blues listed for '65-'66 - Bahama Blue and Sea Blue. Not sure which one yours is.
Your number plate light is correct - the wider one came in for the 1964 model. However 1966 models did have '1300 Deluxe' badges on the
lid.
Nice shot of the very wet Bulli show day!

I don't think its sea blue, as far as I know, my wife's notch is sea blue, which is a bit lighter and has a touch of green in it.

car looks nice
your car looks pretty clean, as for the decklid, sell it, its a 64 only decklid, not to easy to come by. you could sell it for the money to buy a
pushbutton decklid and have money left over to paint it and get some food or something.

nice car XXX-1.8T
i always though that the australian 64 engine lids had the narrow numberplate light but no flares in the pressing either side of the light housing.
the pressing lines just faded out like the later wide light engine lids.

Just to clarify the Australian number plate light situation:
German VWs got that wider number plate light in September 1963, for the start of the German 1964 model year.
However, Australian VWs were fully manufactured in Australia from 1962 to 1967. Most German updates did not make it here in those years, and those
that did were often months late.
The wider number plate light came in in the first few months of 1964 - February or March 1964, at the same time the front blinkers were widened and
moved back slightly.
If your wheels are original, there is a date stamp pressed into the centre of the wheel, under the hubcap, which tells you the build month. The back
of the speedo also has a month/year date stamp.
The '1300 Deluxe' badges were fitted in 1966 and 1967, when Aussie VWs had 1300 engines. 1965s still had 1200 motors. The only way to tell
the difference between a '64 and '65 Aussie VW is look at the front seats - '65's had round-top front seats.

Well to make it a correct Aussie '66, yes it should have 1300 Deluxe badges. But that means finding a nice badge at the wreckers or swapmeet,
then drilling holes in your good engine lid.
I used to have a half-inch white whitewall ring on my Beetle's tyres, which looked great. I favour thinner whitewalls on later models...the
thicker ones look better on earlier models. I'm thinking of having them put on the Kombi in fact.
