It Lives
Finally got my 74 Ghia with a 95 Suby engine to fire up. My Engine has been mated to the tranny for about 1 1/2 month. Worked on the wiring for about
1 week. Fuel system about 2 days. Put the harness in the car and tried to start it and wouldnt do anything. Thought my fuel pump wasnt working so I
broke out the manual and realized that I forgot about the ground on the main relay. Hit the switch and she turned over 2 times and then she fired up.
Scared the shit out of me. And I have been grinning from ear to ear ever sence. Now I have to get the water lines run and the radiator installed. Now
I cant wait to really get her going.
I do have a constant buzzing from my IAC solenoid valve. Anyone have any idea why its buzzing or is it supose to buzz? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Another conversion! wow..
A slight buzzing noise is normal. The solenoid switches on and off quickly. The percentage it spends ON compared to being OFF is how it adjusts the
air flow through it. Sort of like a fuel injector and the duty cycle.

Just to clafify my IAC is buzzing when the car is off. Making me think that I have something wired wrong. I could not have heard the buzzing when the
engine is running. I also didnt have the air filter/maf/intake hooked up to the throttle body because I have not cut a hole in my fire wall yet. But
the maf was wired. I guess I need to get everything hooked up before I start to try and debug. Now to start saving for a radiator and water line
tubing. What does everyone think of running 1 1/2" OD x 1/8" wall aluminum tube for the water lines? Would rather stay away from copper.

i've asked around a lot before installing my water lines and most people advised me to take copper over aluminium because the aluminium will oxidate
to much with the water over time.

I've used mild steel exhaust pipe for mine. That way you can get it bent up at the local muffler shop. With the antifreeze it doesn't corrode
anyway. If you want to go nuts you can use stainless steel.
here's a pic of my top hose with a lick of black paint on it...Been on the car now for over a year and the coolent is still nice and clean.
