Inlet Manifold gasket Help


Thiese webers are going back onto a 1800ltr motor for the kombi. When removed there were very thin papery gaskets on the sought off bakelite bottoms of the manifold itself. This is the standard gasket (metal) but I am not sure whether i need to use them with this bakelite facia plate. A couple of questions for you vw wizards....
1. Do I use them ?
2. Should I use gasket sealant as well.
3. Which way do they go? The protruding rim into the manifold or head?
Thanks for your help. Pictures of completed engine hopefully soon.

That bakelite part is a manifold gasked for an EFI engine, they work fine for webers, you don't need to run the steel ones of you use the EFI gaskets.

If your really woried about leaks use some loctite ultra-grey silicon. I don't use any intake gaskets and instead glue and bolt together my intake system. This survived 18lb's of boost on my previous turbo engine so it will work fine on any NA engine too.
