Conversion Help
Hi folks, we own a 76 kombi, and the motor is pretty sad. We have also just discovered that the automatic transmission has died. Is there any old
posts for technical advice regarding the Subaru motor and all of the details on conversion kits etc. Do people generally do these things themselves
or is it easier to get it done by someone? We will need to do motor and gearbox, obviously changing it to a manual from an auto.
Hope this makes sense? Please help.........

Do a search in the non vw engine conversion forum - heaps of info and chat in there!
drive in drive out from Custon Off Road (COR) in Stafford is around the $8k mark for a 2.2 litre subi.
'Helbus' did his own conversion using COR goodies - so cheaper but more effort.
Then there are other options as well - depends on $ - if you want a quick fix put a call out for a 2L second hand VW jobby - there was one for sale in
brissy recently for $700 - i dont know if it sold!
