I can't get myt winder mechanism to work on my splitter. Wont go up and down....:jesus

On a late model beetle [1968>]
the little gear that winds the glass up/down can wear out....
solution...take the winder mechanism out..
unrivet the winder mechanism...
turn the gear over as only one side of the gear wears out
rivet or screw it back together..
