Bitchy Beetle
Hi everyone, my beetle's being a bitch and I am wondering if some of you have some solutions to these problems
1. the gearbox has no more 4th gear. It's just gone! I've tried adjusting the shifter plate but 4th gear isn't there anymore. selecting it is no
different from being in neutral
2. the starter motor only works sometimes. I can hear the solenoid moving but the motor doesn't spin. any ideas?
3. the cylinder head exhaust studs are coming loose! I'm going to have to put overhead studs in 
car's a 40HP with no first gear syncro. looks like a good time to get replacement engine and gearbox and go to 12V? if anybody has these working
parts in Brisbane, and would like to get rid of them, please send me an email lams33@optusnet.com.au
i'm on a uni student budget so I don't have much to spend at all :cry

try checking the brushes in the starter the are most likely worn and need replacing
