My 69: Back on the road for Day of the VW?
After many months of inaction, I am determined to get my 69er back on the road for Day of the VW on the 27th.
Last night I did a mockup of the engine that I am putting in sometime in the next few days, just need some intake boots and gaskets and then should be
ready to go in
Hopefully soon I will move out of home and get a place with a garage, then I can respray me bug in dove blue.
Check out my bugselecta piccy, edited the oval tail lights in myself.

yeah its in now, dont know whether it goes though 
gotta redo the wiring for the alternator and set the timing.
i think i might have to realign the distributor drive shaft coz its a crankcase originally from a type 3 |

anyone help ya install it? I gotta redo my headlight and blinker wiring.. when the headlights are on, they're still pretty dim for 12V (voltage drop
somewhere i presume) and at idle, the blnkers don't blink with the headlights on (not enough current/voltage to the flasher can?)

Steve, your Beetle looks awesome! Why respray it? It's a sweet colour as it is! Love the wheels too.

I put the engine in on my own, it was a Monday that I had off work, I assumed everyone else would be at work still.
Thanks Laura The paint looks good from a distance but it is pretty
chipped at the front and has a few little bits of rust that I want to get rid of. |
