Is it only really suitable for a bus?
ie: too big for a bug

Umm have to check if that model motor is twin overhead cam. If it is it will be much bigger in the head areas
From what I have, and from what I have been told by fitters of EJ series motors, the EJ22 is the torque type motor suitable for a bus.
The EJ25 will have other opinions. I have seen opinions that they run hotter and therefore that makes them hard to keep cool, but I have no evidence
to support this.

NO WAY!!!!
I have an EJ25 in my buggy and it's great. I can almost take off in thrid it's got so much torque. :thumb
Grab it ruckus, you live in VIc and there seems to be no limit for capacity down there if Rod Hadfield's merlin powered Chev is anything to go by.
Once you have it in, wack on a blower or a turbo and spin the tyres in every gear. :P

The MY99 should be a SOHC engine. BTW mine runs at max 90deg on the sand at high revs. Most of the time it's happy at 85deg at 110km/h.

I knew there was no solid basis on the overheating thing. Good to hear someone who actually has one say it's ok, rather than hearsay
If this had come up when I was looking for an engine I would have got it. But anyway we all know how things turn out. The EJ22 is good to spin the
wheels easily on takeoff and will take off in second smoothly and round corners in third smoothly. Gotta love the injected NA motor that is just so
smooth, but still revs to 6000rpm. EJ25 in a bug would be a weapon alright. What are we talking 160hp? maybe more?
Definitley would need rear discs to engineer with the bigger motor.
Sorry if I go on about the Suby motor, but we have only had ours on the road for a week and still getting excited by it.
I actually asked Fleur if she misses the dak dak sound of the old motor, and she said she lost al sentimentality about 0.01 second after driving the
bus with the new motor. Women can be so fickel

Sure... If you want to register it as an implement. Only drive between sunrise and sunset along a route provided to the rta 24 hours previous and not
exceed 40kph.
LOL
BTW, it ain't coming back from the US with him... neither is the Lincoln V12 rat.
But he is building a beach speedster with another massive engine from a TANK!
