Red Baron- Faster Again (18/3/07)


Eric Calabrese goes 8.87 et- 158mph in promod in the Red Baron turbo-efi 2276 sedan.(rocket-ship) See footage on http://www.dragracingtv.com.IF  this didn't work go through http://www.cal-look.com.There  is a couple other good vw drag videos there.

Well they have even gone faster agian in testing ,for
new season. 8.55et at 164mph. So clean of a pass!!!!!!
Looks like ProMod this year will be very fast!

Apparently it is a pan-car with ladder bar rear and swingaxle.
It weighs 1760lbs with driver.
It has run 161mph on a slower run (ET wise)

Yes awesome stuff Pete....164mph too!

5.5@129 on the 1/8 mile!

This is a "pan Car" not a tube chassis.

What is interesting is that they run the car on E85
which is 85 percent Ethanol and 15 prcent pump unleaded.

This is available at the petrol station in most parts of the USA.

This is where the joke, "Got Corn" comes from,
being that corn is the resource that ethanol is made from.

yes i have seen this car run a few times i could not believe it when i went to pits and saw it was a pan car, with a small engine and only street eliminator heads very impressive

E85 must be a bit 'different' to tune it with..... I'm guessing much higher flow rates but would it also give you some protection against pinging and cooler head temps ???
