2 x Wierd Sounds Back 1970 Beetle

Gday guys my little bug is not well it has been seen by 3 mechanics and all are at a loss to explain the two problems now and again when I am driving doing a left hand turn the car makes a very noisey squeeking sound. I have had suspension techs look at it and they seem to think the problem is elsewhere? any idea's as well as this the breaks drop in and out of order most days they are good then the peddle goes soft are they related and if so has anybody had the same drama's? How can I fix the problem. The breaks have also been checked and seem normal?

The second issue is far more recent when I achieve over 80kmhr a sound from the rear end generates it sounds asif tyres are rubbing but they are not is it the gearbox cos I had it replaced 4 months ago. If you have any idea's please help cos these issues kept me from going to DOV at yarra valley I was bloody spewn. Thanks heaps for listening to my problems and I hope you can help Ben Dickens aka Harryman the car is under members rides as fireman bens bug:cry

Check your rear bodie mounts. The ones under the rear mudgaurds.Replace with new rubber. It should sit on rubber as well as bolt through rubber.
Second check your frame horns/These run either side of the gearbox and the engine mounts bolt to them.My car was making a similar noise and the frame horn on the right side was split and peeling open with the engine tourque.
Hope this is helpful, if nothing it elimates some more grey areas.
