Off Road buggies at WA DoVW

At last year's DoVW we got some negative feedback about the trophy for off road buggies going to a kitted out beetle.

This year Idlewild Offroad of Malaga has sponsored two trophies which should fix the problem, with the following classifications.

Kit Cars On Road. All kits e.g. Purvis Eureka including obviously street Manx and Manx Type buggies. Beetles with Poraga kits or similar will be in the Modified Beetle section.

Off Road, registered or otherwise. Manx and Manx Type buggies if the owner wants it in Off Road. All Bajas and specially built off road buggies.

So, bring your off road VW based buggy or Baja.

The DoVW is at G O Edwards Park on Great Eastern Highway, Victoria Park opposite the Burswood Casino. Entry from Burswood Road. From 8 am to 3 pm. $5 per vehicle, people FREE. On Sunday 11th December.

.

THANK YOU MOOSE.....!!!!!!!!!!

Richard, it's Sad when a sponsor has to Double his commitment to the club, simply to get them to acknowledge a whole nother field of entrants and participants (and a shame that it has been announced with now less than one week till the show).. Especially a group that has always made a reasonable contribution to the day..
You may have noticed my car had been absent from the event for several years, due to this very fact...

If it hadn't been for Chris' prompting, the club would probably continue to treat the offroaders as Pariahs for many years to come..:cussing.:grind:

The outcome of his actions is of course, that he may now need to stick around to police the situation....::P

Thanks Chris..

.

ps.. That wasn't just a "Kitted out Beetle".. It was a lowered beetle with low profile tyres, the roof cut off and a Carrera Kit with Whale Tail....
A True Off Roader I say...!!! IT didn't even come down the dirt road to the motokahna...!!!

Daniel. Your point is taken and thank you for your trenchant comments. We have never considered the off roaders to be Pariahs. Heaven Forefend!!, that we ever would.

Indeed, Chris gave us a nudge in the right direction this year. I know how busy you will be on the day and I hope that you will bring your Baja this year.

If we get enough on/off road buggies this year we may consider another group next year for off road buggies only, so all you off roaders please bring your buggies and get this classification for trophies up there with the others as a major grouping.

Gee, I miss the desert and here I am considering a sea change to Tasmania. I must have drunk too much spice wine.
