Kübelwagen ?

Does anybody know what the Kübelwagen was/is called in Oz?

The Seppo's call them 'The Thing' and I wondered if we had a name for them.

Hey Softop, I believe the technical aussie term for 'the Thing' is 'the Thing'. Of course, not to be confused with the Country Buggy.....

You coming around to those thongs yet?

And it starts......

Softop, you sorted that box of nuts and bolts out yet?

In the meantime, everyone else feel free to jump in with details on 'Things' here in Oz...

It may start but does it go -y'know clutch thingies an' stuff- and have you bribed your local RTA enough to register it yet?

I dont mind the nuts & bolts left over so much but it's the nuts & bolts that are NOT in the box that bothers me!

thats what i thought, kubels are the military things, brother of the schwimmwagen i think, the county buggy is a very crude aussie body on a bug pan, not many round i think, and the 181 is the "thing" common in lotsa movies, and in the usa
