Special gift for Helbus!

I received a special present for Fleurs Bus, and I presented her with it and she was very happy.

This is the drivers view before fitting the present.

It is unreal how tight and positive it changes now. The position is up higher and closer to the driver too.

It is exactly in the right position and the shape is really comfortable. The button press to go in reverse is simple too, no more pushing down.

I love the berg shifters - wouldn't be without one now I run one in my bug. I hope to have one for the splitty down the track - did you order it directly from Bergs, or another supplier?

Just two bolts to just change the shifter. The gearbox was rebuilt when I put the Suby motor in. So it's all real tight now :)

Now you just need an ensuite...

Seriously, you haven't been banging your thigh with it in a bus?

It is in a good position and doesnt hit the thigh. I was thinking of ordering it direct, but the headaches involved just made it not worth it. The smile on Fleurs face made it worth it.

How many guys can buy their wife a Berg shifter for a present :D

Hellbus--I just got my shifter in from Berg today. The one I rec'd has a chrome bar and a polished handle. Looks like the one in your pic is black. Did you custom order that? I didnt see that as an option when i ordered mine......

Kind of sux that Berg cant put pics on their new site!

Just came with black handle. I assumed it would be black, didn't really think of it being polished.

Have you put it in and done some race changes yet?

I am glad the gearbox was reco'ed to perfection, because there was no warranty for non VW motor or aggressive shifting. Done both and still goes pretty ace after 6 months. Going drag racing at Heathcote in a few weeks. :)
