just a quick question to ensure i am thinking along the right tracks
if i have a 74 kombi camper with 1800 box and i have a 71 camper also with a 1800 will the two bolt directly across or will i need to make any
adjustments?

1971's didnt normally come with 1800's (well @ least i thought they started 1973-ish)
IF it IS an 1800 (ie Type 4 motors as opposed to Type 1) then yes - they will bolt straight up

I have a 091 (2 litre) box in a 71 Van with a 200mm belhousing on it. Most are interchangeable in the bus'. I had to shorten the studs on the front
of the box to use the 1600 mount. The 71 does not have the overhead gearbox mount also (not sure if the 74 does or later).
Yours sounds like it has already had a box swap at some time. The thing that may catch you out is the flywheel and belhousing size 200, 215, 228mm. If
there is a problem swap them also.
