1000 posts ! Big Deal!
well, here it is finally number 1000
its has been a 3 years but I am indebted to this forum I only found it just after I had forked out $3000 for a reco motor with heads just waiting for
me to gety thousands of km from home before they started to die
people -
started off with Bizarre (Barry) a great guy
he put me on the Holzls at V-Force who taught me many many things & have have inspired me with their enthusiasm & the wonderful things they acheive
then along came Andy (Richard) - I guess we have helped each other & have become good friends, it is hard to imagine him not being around, even if he
is 1000kms away
& I have now met many more AVD people through the odd event & a cruise, makes you feel like you are part of something important
Then Classic Vee-Dub opened up & I suddenly found I could afford a whole stack of things that I had only dreamed of having,
& then I ended up with a 2nd camper, bought for spares but too good, that was early this year & about 3 weeks ago it was on the TV show "the Alice"
, I am currently in a mess in the backyard putting another motor in that (thanks Kombi Rescue)
In May this year the unbelievable happened & I ended up with what is now my everyday car (done 10,000 KM in it so far)
my wonderful 1954 Beetle, the same model I grew up in from 1956 when I was born, til 1965 when we sold it, I think the only reason I will ever sell
this one is when I can no longer drive.
Every day I log on - the Forum has become an integral part of my life, & indeed in many ways has completely changed my life & the direction it was
taking
so thanks for all your help all the good people out there
& a special thanks to ANDREW for all the time & hard work he puts in & of course thanks to all the other moderators for their hard work
blah blah blah etc
Kim

I have to agree with Kim
We have meet some of the nicest people on here who have become very good friends.
As well people who we only get to talk to on this forum it is a great place to visit.
