VW Club of Vic book discounts
Dropped into the Technical Bookshop today after work to check out the VW books on offer and get the 10% off for Vic Club members:bounce
Bought 'Haynes Restoration Manual for Beetle and Transporter' and a neat read 'My Bug' which is a lot of short essays from
different people about bugs they have owned at a particular time in their lives (it has some great art work and pics in it). Saved $5 on each book and
had something to read on the train:thumb
Also got the 10% off of another book I bought, sweet.

Well it was a very VW kinda day.
Parked Dr L at East Ringwood station, checked out the yellow kombi that is always there before me and looked for the early red golf with P plates that
parked next to me yesterday. We pulled in at the same time and got off in the city at the same station (spooky)
Today waiting on the station I noticed a nice red beetle drive along Station St, tried to pick year and look at details. Wondered where it lives.
Always look out for Dr L as the train nears the station. It's sweet to see him waiting there. Today he had that red beetle parked next to him. I
smiled and chuckled to myself. I'd been looking through my new restoration manual all the way home on the train, woman opposite giving me odd
looks (she took great interest in me taking it out of it's plastic wrap)
OK the beetle was a '67 on original plates. It looks like it hasn't had a thing done to it's body or interior since it left the show
room. Paint a little dull and faded but otherwise in good shape.
That book 'My Bug' by Michael J. Rosen has a nice piece in it written by the illustrator of John Muirs Idiot Guide. A couple of very good
black and white drawings typical of his work with it
Which reminds me. Just after I'd bought my books and was about to walk away from the counter in the tech book shop a guy can in and asked for a
copy of John Muirs 'How to Keep Your Beetle Alive'. I stopped in my tracks and laughed, couldn't believe it. He has an old copy but too
old to rebind and he's lost a lot of pages. Walked out of the shop smiling.
