Steering Wheel Resto
Hi all,
Anyone here done a resto on a steering wheel, I have heard that people use araldyte (probably not how spelt) Does anyone know the process- any tips
other than trial and error.
Any advice appreciated.

I just did mine. I too followed the bugshop advise. I got the POR15 epoxy putty from ~ SOUTHPORT HARTS AUTOMOTIVE PAINT
68 Johnstone Street.
Here some more tips
1. start by fixing all the cracks with an epoxy plastic and then hand sand the wheel to its original shape.
2. The wheel then receives three coats of a primer surface sealer. It is again checked for any nicks or scratches and is hand sanded.
3. The wheel then receives four coats of sealer for color holdout.
4. The wheel then receives four coats of acrylic urethane to the original color or color of your choice.
5. After eight hours the wheel is color sanded and then left to dry a minimum of five days.
6. The wheel is then hand buffed and polished

Buy a restored one from Kochs in the US there great i have them on both of my cars. Bout $200 USD but worth it
