Kevo , you would be wasting your $ get hold of a 2.2 ltr subaru .It will pull just as well & be saving you heaps of $ in fuel .

Chris on warton road has a adapter plate , I find his number if you ar that keen on the 3.5

Go subaru

Kevo. Try Volks Conversions on (07) 5537 7770. He can sell you an entire kit. I agree with seagull. Go Subi. The Rover V8 is good but it's a gas guzzler. Also the rego people will not like it and nor will your insurance company. Don't forget that if the 2 litre engine that you are going to remove is in good condition it is worth good $$$$.

thanks for your help guys,

ill let you know how i go,
yer i have allready been down the subi track but wanted something different and a bit more unique, plus i cant get over the sound of a screaming V8!!!

yes the rego ppl will not love me, the whole car has to go over the pits again which will be awesome fun... but i am so determined to make it a V8 kombi, so many ppl have shut me down n said i cant / wont do it:repuke

oh yer seagull, that number of chris with the plate wood be much appreciated, i think volks conversions is over east which is a minor setback for sending a heavy bit of metal over west haha cheers mate

mate it's one of the easiest conversions out you don't have to worry about wiring for EFI and all that other crap. if you want a V8 do it i had one it was a bit of a gas guzzler aut it was also a heap of fun, the only problem you will find with the rover engine is if you want to get a little moer power out of it later on, there isn't many after market parts you can buy off the shelf for it.
if you need any info drop me an email.
the roads authority won't give you all that much grief if the conversion is done right
here is a picture of mine
cheers

If you can draw up what you what (Auto Cad would be best) any decent Laser Cuting Place could cut out an adapater.

He wacked1 I just bought a Rover V8 for the sand rail buggy I am building. Do you know anyone who has all the dimensions or maybe even drawings I can use to make my own adaptor plate. Should be able to manufacture it myself if I have the specs. Cheers.

Gday all I love the rover motor. As far as performance goes you can buy a 4 barrel manifold of a 215 buick motor bolt up also davis engineering at amaroo park do stroker motors You can also modify a holden v8 dissy to suit plenty of different extractors as well I was building a trike with midmount 3.5 but the motor is now destined for a 403 peugeot ute.
