how was this achieved exactly, like the rubber without the chrome strip bit, was it just painted or what?

they could be the cali version which just had the glass but most likely it was painted

In the WCM catalogue they show the frame and rubber on page A4

The aluminium frame would have to be painted black to hide it's shininess. I don't believe there are any black frame popouts available, and the rubber is under the frame, so the frame will show on the outside.

They have used a set of windows that has black chrome.

looks like they may have either just painted the chrome or had it powder coated/anodised.

Its Mikes car and the frames have been paint in 2 Pak Flat black
