We were sitting near where the accident happened.

I was watching the cars go around and I knew it was only a matter of time.

I went down on saturday. Mrs Shrek was rather perky, but only did one lap that I saw :sniffle:

No racial violence in sight. I saw 2 small groups of aussies doing some taunting but thankfully nothing came of it. I bet these people arent normally so patriotic of the flag when they arent waving it in others faces looking for a fight.

What did you think of the crash? I was at the opposite end to where it happened but didnt actually see what happened. (Beer break) I think it was extremely stupid to allow drifting with essentially no crash protection for the crowd. I think Chic Henry's comments are a bit off. "When it comes to anything connected to motorsport, whether it be by professional drivers or having fun, there is an element of danger, I mean moving motor vehicles are always dangerous," he said. "These people, who were driving these cars, are highly professional people, and I put my faith in them to be able to handle their vehicles. "Summernats isnt motorsport. And every professional (race) driver that has ever walked the earth has had an accident at some stage. He also mentioned on the night about how it says on disclaimers that motorsport is dangerous. There we no disclamiers at summernats, a point I noticed when we walked in as they are everywhere now. It doesnt take too much for a minor head injury to turn into a major head injury and they are probably very lucky the kid didnt go under the car. I guess the liability insurance and entry fees will go up next year.

Apart from those 2 uglies it was a good day. I think the numbers of cars were down, as well as numbers of people. But that didnt amtter cos the number of boobies was about the same. Shame I couldnt hang around longer for the AC/DC covers.

AMAZEER.

I know somebody who works there, and I have it on good Authority that two Busloads of Lebanese were turned around at Marulan before they even got to Canberra.

Those Cars were loosing it and all over the track before that accident. I knew it was only a matter of time.

There was no real protection between them and the Spectators.

There was some Bloke on after Acca Dacca making racial jokes and saying, “fuck the Lebos” from the Stage the young audience seemed impressed.

But I love the SUMMER NATS I hope it never changes.

Most labradors aren't partial to clothing. But you can't take your pets to summernats.

Does anyone know what the entry requirements for the street catagory?

It would be good to have an influx of dubs down there.

Yep another good event... a few less idiots this year and a shame about the crash. It was a fukken horrible feeling running over to see what the damage would be (I was in the in-field) and it wasn't a very nice sight... But it could have been FAR worse
