For all you historic Beetle people, need info
Hi All,
I was checking this 1954 beetle out on ebay the other day and was wondering where the owner might of sourced all the dates and landing information
from. I would really like to track one of my 54's back to who brought it in the country and was the first owner etc. I know from checking books
against the pan numbers that it is stamped as a very early Jan 54 (think in the first week) and has all corresponding bits to back this up (speedo
etc) and has luggage racks in the back which I have only ever seen on splits, never in the back of an oval. I know of another Jan 54 here is SA and
was thinking maybe they came over on the same boat.
If anyone knows where I could get some information about this it would be great. Also can you send Wolfsburg a email or something for the birth
certificate or do you need to post them something? Website ?

Thanks

C'mon kids gather round,
there's a new sensation hitting town,
It's moving straight, low to the ground,
it'll pick you up when your feeling down.

So yours were private imports? Looks like mine was on the first shipment (03/54).

Ruckus... do you need a really good set of doors and where are you seats coming from in SA? I have been looking for 2 front seats forever. Any ideas?

Yeah I've got correct doors (although one needs to have a skin transplant as someone has stolen a big section out of it to do a repair job!). The
seats are in Adelaide I think, I'm still following them up as they were part of the sale. I'll let you know if it's too hard to get them over and
we might work something out.
