61 custom Karmann Ghia - more pics added

This isn't mine (unfortunately) but I couldn't wait any more - I had to share a sneak pic of the KG undergoing some custom work at the moment. I'll let the owner fill in the story if he wishes....or just let people hang in suspense.

The owner is my brother-in-law....I'm sure at times he (and moreso his wife) have cursed me getting him into the vw scene - has probably cost him more time and money than anticipated. But hopefully has provided a lot of fun and satisfaction too. :bounce

Yeah wheels are certainly a personal preference thing - here is a shot with one of each (on its way to CO last year).

Hopefully will have some more shots soon (not sure if he has the KG back yet).

The pic with the fuchs is before the beam was narrowed 2inches. I saw the KG yesterday - looks very sweet - very low indeed!

I think silver is the best colour to show of a KG's lines. Its a classic colour that says upper class. I have a thing for silver cars, I have had 4 now. Ever noticed how many expensive luxuary cars are painted silver. It looks great and reminds me of another one we have here in SA.
Nice choice in colour and wheels.

Just a few more shots - 2 inch narrowed beam....narrowed IRS conversion...CB performance disc brakes on all four corners. Brissy people will see more this weekend at dubs by the pub show.

Narrowed IRS? Could you share the conversion details.
I have 15x6 fuchs on the rear of my kg, with irs conversion, but would like a little more tyre to guard clearance.

G'day guru - the guys at custom offroad narrowed the IRS rear end - probably best to have a chat to those guys for details as I am not 100% on what methods were adopted.

Thought I better update some pics of this beast - helped to get the narrowed front end sorted today including new steering box. It may be at the show this coming sunday (KlubVW show) - not 100% sure though. It will be at valla for sure.

First two pics - check out the meat under the rear!
The fronts are equally as sticky.

Interior details at a glance include autometer gauges, alpine audio system (6.5in splits, 12in sub), custom rollcage, porsche seats, scat shifter etc.

And finaly just another sneak peek of what will be in there some time before valla - 2110 of fun! Street eliminators that have been opened up for better flow, nice size valves, 48 dells, mallory ignition, berg linkage etc.

This sweet lookin fun car will soon be a whole lot more fun! Stay tuned.
