5 speed box to Subaru Fasty??

Guys, quick question to probably not short answer. Have done some searches but not really getting the info I want.

If Im interested in a 5 speed box and $$$ concious what is this UN5 Renault box I hear about. How heavy would the mods be to get it into a fastback and do I have any suppliers for an adapter plate etc etc?

Would a 915 Porsche be any easier or am I just being silly in thinking I can get a 5 speed running without too many hassles.

Dont really want to spend big $$ on a VW 4 speed at tyhe moment.

Thanks.

1971 Type 3 Fasty - EJ20T

I love 242HP sleepers.

How many sets of lights does it take a $229k Carrera S to learn? UPDATE: Cayman S, M3, B4 now added to the list.

make a adapter plate to turn the a subie box upside down and drill the case for oil spray,s on the gears ,have a look at 915 boxes built to handle 500 plus hp.you could use the front wheel drive subie box.
It might just work.

A UN5 will handle also 550hps without any mods to the box. Most professional buggy racers use them. The boxes a scarce all hard to get.Porsche boxes are good but weigh a tonne.Malcoms idea has merrits as well.

Hey Mate,

Do you need a hand with anything like pulling the motor? If so, call me and I'll come over or you can do it here.
