T2 1700 Gear Box Wanted

Does anybody have a a good condition secondhand or reco gear box for sale that will suit a T2 1973 Combi. My bus is an original westfalia continental camper with a bit of a 1st gear problem. It is falling out of 1st gear pretty easily. I'm located in Adelaide

I would have thought that one could put on a larger clutch then substitute an 1800 box.... somebody else may be able to give you a yay or nay. :tu:

thanks Karmen. From my understanding the 1600 box has different ratios so it may not be suitable. I think you can fit 1700 and 1800 boxs and you have to change some things to fit a 2L box. I'm trying to keep it as original as possible, if i can

I fitted a 2L box to our 1800 and it went straight on. Had to keep the 1800 flywheel, clutch, bellhousing and starter as a unit.
