1st gear jumping out
I have a 1973 1700cc westfalia continental camper with a bit of a 1st gear problem. It is jumping out pretty easily. Does anybody have any easy fix
options or will i need to fully reco the box or replace it with a good second hand box. Does anybody know a good parts or reco shop in and around
Adelaide
Schmoburger suggested that i might be able to change the clutch and fit an 1800 gear box. Does anybody know if this will fit.

first all check the gear shift coupling (under seat in bugs)
it may have come loose
or the rubber has deteriorated
the square head bolt must be tight and wired down to stay tight

thanks continential...
I had kinda just learnt to live with it, figureing i'd get the mechanics to fix it next service...but if its simple enough i might actually venture
under my car to check it out myself..
