73 bus for sale - with pics
hey guys
due to two cars, and rego coming up ive decided on selling my bus.....ive had her for 2 years and in that time have had a recon 2ltr engine put in (by
a member on this board) and have done about 5000km on it.
it currently gets driven once a week to band practice, my girlfirend has a little run about (she cant park the bus) and i catch a tram to work
everyday, so heres a chance to pick up a cheap work horse.
ok ill start with the bad news:
- will be sold without RWC
- paint is average, minor dents on sides
- needs left carbie overhaul & tune up (blows black smoke at takeoff)
- will need new exhast for RWC (may just need extension welded on)
- 1600 gearbox, some sync problems with the 2ltr engine (when stationary) actually gives the car more getup up to 100kmph
- front passenger seat not the best (drivers like new)
good news:
- regurly serviced by vw mechanics....service/repair history for...probably last 20 yrs!
- all good running gear and rubbers etc, stops really well
- bullbar, roof rack, tow bar
- little rust (only minor surface)
- spare set of wheels and tires with excellent tread
- reconditioned engine
ok the pics will sum it up...these are a couple of months old, and i can send new ones by email if wanted...but it looks the same!
The rego runs out on the 18th march, and im looking for around $2000.... I figure if you spend $500 to get through RWC (carbie and exhast), it will be
a cheap bus!
please contact me at:

car is in St Kilda, VIC

$2000 what a great buy, wish I was in Melb, however would not need a RWC in Adelaide?
I might have to consider

now on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VW-Volkswagen-Kombi-bus-1973-2ltr_W0QQitemZ7221402516Q...
i increased the buy it now to $2500 this morning after seeing the other buses on ebay....but if any of you guys on the forum are interesed its
$2000...this bus has served me very well..but as i said it needs about $500 of repairs to the motor....that was including labour (quoted carbie
overhaul by volksaffair), so if you do it yourself i guess it would be pretty cheep.
if the bus doesnt sell within 3-4 weeks (before rego expires) im keeping her, and will do the work myself....just dont have time at the moment due to
a new job.
