Hope you havea lot of money the best place is in country Victoria, as they still copper plate under the chrome.

Try the guys above but i think it will be more expensive. 0438-765-097 or 098 Peter or Phil

I think you will find that modern chroming is no where near as good as it used to be, nowadays they cant use most of the chemicals that make the chrome really shine and last, it has been found to be too dangerous.

I had some stuff done last year and it was by a respected place and it is nowhere near as good as the original stuff.

Have you thought about stainless, I know you can get them for beetles and type 2's not sure of 34's

It shold be copper plated first to get a decent finish, but these places that use this are getting rare.

Johnno your sprints are such a good price I'm hoping I can afford both. Can't have shinny paint and great wheels with shitty chrome. Still working on the disc and hub probs, will let you know.:thumb

Most chroming places these days dont do great jobs because the public will not pay the prices. When shopping for chroming places make sure you ask to 1. see their finished products and 2. Ask them how many layers/plating do they do. Most places will give a 2 layer setup. This is the cost saving way and will result in ugly work later on. The "proper" chroming involves three layers and is a bit more expensive. However, the results speak for themselves. By the time the cheap price has worn away and the bitter taste in the mouth has taken over you will realise that the three layer option in the long run is cheaper, than the cheaper ways once.

The place (while in Melb) I use is Vinneys in Dandenong. I believe he does post/ship interstate and his workmanship is unbelievible. The attention to detail is scary for the man. Give him a ring as I know he would be more than happy to talk to you. Be aware that the prices are on the reasonable side of rediculous but they would not be described as cheap.

Cheers
T
