country buggy check out the pics
A guy who has ben doing a bit of panel beating on my car has this beast hiding away. Thought it was a cool never seen one with a cab like this, any
ideas?? Some one has chopped it and put in a toyota crown motor into it. Pretty rough it has been used as a paddock basher but he saved it from going
to the crusher.

Chained
Hmmm I see that it is chained to the tree, like some mongrel dog... perhaps that is an omen- but it does appear to have the proper steering wheel

Just needs a kennel to keep it warm. Parked on the side of a hill chained to stop it rolling away but pretty sure the back brakes were seized any
way. Seemed to be pretty well complete and original just had a hard life by the looks of it.

was out there the other day i assume the back half is still there chained to the tree. The guy still cant belive the interest that it raised. I really
dont know how he got it off the trailer when he dropped it off but it definately wasn't going any where.

For anyone who thinks it's a crime etc etc to cut up a country buggy, I dare you to make anything out of this thing. It was waaaay past salvage.

Greg we didnt even break even on the parts we got. The splitty we bought at the same time was even worse than the buggy, sight unseen of course, but
sometimes you got to take a chance. The splitty wasnt even brought back to hobart. Two T4 kombis and two broken trailers and busted self esteem sent
us on the 250km trip back home!!!:cry

I just found out that a 1971 [Non Super] 1200 Beetle sold in the UK & Europe had the same black plain steering wheel as used on the Country
Buggy.....
I knew VW wouldn't have specially had them made...
I presume the steering wheels were German??
or maybe Aussie Made...??
Well, I'm guessing they were the same....

The correct Country Buggy steering wheel is original Type 1 from the early split screen beetles. It was three spoked.
