'Pumpkin' - 1970 Beetle Rebuild
Finally got around to building a gallery of some of the progress pics of my rebuild project. I got 'Pumpkin' in August last year with the intentions
of a quick rebuild. Things started quickly, and have been progressing, but it's certainly not been quick, and it's a little more involved than
originally planned.
She's originally a honey brown 1970 bug. All original interior and exterior, running a 1500. I pulled her all apart, sanded the paint back, got her
repainted, and am now just begining on putting it all back together again. Got some big plans
She's going in for her interior next week so will be gone for a few weeks. I'll grab plenty of pics during the refit and proceeding rebuild...
Anyways, heres gallery 1!

I can see where the name pumpkin comes from. I like the colour
Any paint tips required, just ask in the paint & body section. Cheers

Thanks guys! The pumpkin name actually came from the previous owner, but with the new colour choice in mind, I didn't mind keeping it.
Yeah the camera isn't good at picking up the true colour. It's bright orange, doesn't look red at all in the flesh. It's actually a Ford Orange,
from the BA XR Falcons. The white is pure white, no tint at all.
The interior is going to be a full custom job, in orange and white to match the exterior. Will take plenty of photos. I'm hoping to have her ready to
point that she'll make it up to Sydney at Easter for the bug show.

Actually finished, I'm hoping end of April, maybe May. On the road though, I'm hoping for Easter so I can make it to the show in Sydney.

Hmm,
Looking great there. Like the LCD screen, needs to be mounted better (ie square) then it will look inplace. Is it a motorised one or a mounted
one?
Cheers

Thanks guys! Yeah the screen was only just holding in place for that photo It's been mounted in properly now and actually sits square... pic below. Had to do some cutting to get the screen and headunit into place. The
fiberglasser is going to neaten up the headunit install.
Dropped it off at the interior place yesterday, supposedly ready friday next week. Will post some more pics up then.

Thanks guys! Couple more pics, ducked over to the interior place today and grabbed some progress shots. Unfortunatly he's been held up with materials
(who would have thought they don't keep bright orange in stock ). He's
got the rear trims done though, and started on the seats. He's also started on the door trims (not pictured). Carpet is going in next (light grey)
followed by the roof lining (pure white). Supposedly finished end of this week or early next week.
Cameras don't seem to photograph the paint correctly, and because of that it looks like the seats don't match the paint work, but they do. The seat
cover pictured isn't actually properly in place yet either as he hasn't rebuilt the padding yet, hence looking like it's all loose.
Surprised to see she's got a twin Ian! Before I decided on that paint scheme I checked photos of past events aussie wide and couldn't find any the
same!

More pics... taken at lunchtime today...
He's even carpeted the speaker kick panels I got... Still more work to go obviously, should be done tuesday or wednesday next week. I just realised
the lack of window winder hole in the photos... hmmm

And even more... I spent the morning trucking it away from the interior place back to the assembly workshop Interior is all done (apart from a few little things)... Photos are missing the carpet covered speaker pods
and the front door trims, but they're done as well.
More pics!
