We have a 73 kombi and at the moment it has just one row of rear seats but was wondering if the came out with 2 rows of rear seats or just one

Look under the mat, there should be brackets to bolt another set of seats in.

There were heaps of dealer options. Somewhere in some add for mid '70's Bays they offered pretty much everything from 2 to 9 seats, using various combinations of double and triple rear seats and a middle front seat.
I think all Bays have mounting brackets in the floors for two rows of rear seats. It's really easy to put 'em in and take 'em out whenever you need. How cool are buses?!
Check what you're registered for: my 234xxx Bay was a 2 seater, and I had to get the rego info updated when I put in more seats, which is only easy to do if everything's completely stock - which it was in my case. At least, that goes for Vic.

Cheers, Aurel.

yes i have looked in the back under the shelf that the previous owner put in and there seems to be some brackets there. we also had a look at some seats out of a delica 4wd and they look pretty damn comfy and they only wanted $295 for a one that sat 2 and and one that would fit 3 bums across.
