WTD : K/L pin Dropped spindles - type 1

Wtd to buy a set of dropped spindles to suit a 63 bug. K/L front end. Drum brakes. Also chasing adjustable beam, combo would be good.

contact via u2u or email jingjok1@optusnetDOTcomDOTau

Location is southside brisbane 4128

Thanks people.

Evan

I have an adjustable k/l pin beam off a 63 beetle including trailing arms but no spindles/brakes etc. I'll U2U the details - I am on the gold coast.

Do they come with the king pin installed?
What are they worth?
What do you want to pay?

Cheers Dave

I dont know, I dont have them yet :)
$399 new for cb performance ones from classicveedub and US$169 new + shipping. Almost tempted to save a bit more loot and get a wide 5 disc kit and spindles from the states but it would be too tight for my budget really. It was either nice wheels or low so Im gonna run stock rims :)

As for what I want to pay, something less than $400 would be good and free would be ideal but sif that would ever happen hehehehe

The pair that I bought didn't include the king pin kit or installation. Plus a new set of link pins were advisable as well. The drop spindles add at least 20mm to the track which means the tyres rub on the guards...especially if you are using BRM's. Which of course is easy to fix if you buy a narrowed beam.

Buyer beware....ask more questions

No k&l drop spindles come with king pins or torsion links. And they definately dont come fitted!! They need to have new king pins fitted and I always do new link pin bushes too, unless they are fairly new.
Ragged is correct with the offset issue. With the adjustable beam and drop spindles the outer guards will rub on the tyres when turning even with 135's and standard wheels.

Narrowed beam I think! With the conti's they are too low profile and give you daylight between the top of the tyre and guard making the car look un-lowered (is that a word??)

Yeah, plan to go the narrowed beam in the future. Bought a adjustable beam from dasdubber as a fill in while I get around to fitting adjusters and narrowing the original beam. Cant afford to go narrowed sway bars and all that at the moment. spindles im not in a hurry for so might just settle on getting a kit from the states with some discs as well.

Thanks to all for help, product and suggestions :)
