Sticking pressure reliefe valve
the pressure reliefe valve stops the oil going to the cooler when its cold and thick doesnt it?
i think mine may be stuck
i tested my temp gauge for accuracy and its spot on the money
when i drive to work in the mornings its lucky to get over 50-55
coming home in the arvo when its a bit warmer it might hit 60
its about 25kms on the open road some hills mainly sitting at 100
but even on the motorway upto brisbane sitting on 115-120 for 2 hours doesnt get over 70-80
this isnt normal is it?
its a 1600 twinport running 20/50 oil all in good tune
thanks
Joel

i know the little pistons are threaded inside so they can be removed when stuck so it must happen

I wonder where the temp gauge is getting a signal from?... The sender may be accurate, but is it getting a representative oil temp? It's not stuck
in some odd cool corner or anything is it?
Dunno man, I seem to have the opposite problem! Heh. Hope you figure it out!

thanks dude,
its fitted in my sump plate
i posted a pic of it in an old thread:
http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=49460#pid460925
the second i stop at home of an arvo to open the garage door it starts to heat up but if i got back out on the road and got going again it cools back
down fairly quickly
i've been thinking for a while about pissing off the dog house cooler and putting in a remote one with a thermostatically operated fan
