Byron Bay lost one of its greatest

Byron Bay lost one of its greatest last week, Ben King died of a heart attack after winning his heat at the regional championships in Yamba. Ben was the President and founder of Byron Bay Boardriders and the man behind the Easter Classic...He contributed heaps to Byron Bay, every flag in town last monday was at half mast...

He left behind his wife Jenny, and 3 children Kurt, Maddi and Paris...

One of his 1st cars was a split Kombi, he was only 42...

Ben was also president of surfing far north coast...
His funeral was on Tuesday and a traditional surfers paddle out was held on main beach byron bay, over 600 surfers are turned up to show their support, including some WCT professionals, what an impact this guy had...

Ben loved splits, he loved all things old, especially surfboards...hope i have an impact on just a few of the lives Ben touched...

Id known ben for a few years and teach his children, i went in the paddle out at Main Beach Byron. Must have been 1000 people there, over 600 paddled out, a pretty amazing experience...If you've ever been to a tradional surfers paddle out you'll know what i mean...

What a man, what a life

42 and one of the fittest guys i know, he was a big unit, but whenever i surfed with him, he probably caught 2 waves to my 1...maybe even 3 to my 1... just shows that death doesnt discriminate, when your times up your time is up...

1500 people at his funeral...

Some people are susceptable to them

Need to keep an eye on your body

DOnt get too many chances, need to take care of it as best we can
