replacement condenser for 009 dizzy

I've put on a replacement condensor which doesn't seem right. All other set up seems the same but the idle is running fast since the service I did.

The only thing that I can think of being different is the condenser.

Does anyone have a source for the right kind of condenser to go with this distributor in Australia?

Cheers,
Tom

is there much difference in the workings of condensers?
i replaced the one in my 74Lbug a few years ago with the only vw one in stock which was to suit 64-68 transporter
it fit and has worked fine
i did once use a 009 condenser on a stock vac dissy which worked fine to so i guess aside from diffrent mountings and differnt gromits they work the same?
if your idle is high your timing might be advanced abit to much

I believe that most condensers [really capacitors] are the same..... I used to have a Mitsubishi L300 years ago that used to burn out condensers - about 2 a year...
I just used any condensers and always had spares screwed near the Distributor ready to go...
Its the only vehicle I've owned that did this....

You may have changed the ignition timing slightly when replacing the condenser.... hence the change in idle revs..
