type 2 shell wanted


hello im after a type 2 shell as little rust as possible for as cheap as possible :) i have a type 4 engine and gearbox waiting to go in and whats left of my 75 type 2 hit by a semi :(

hit by a semi???...jeez!...not good mate... main thing is your relatively unharmed tho. :tu:

amazeer had a kombi he was lookin to sell now i think... fairly cheap i'd assume...only catch is, it sounds pretty average bodywise from the description he gave... depends how much your willing to spend really on getting it shipshape... purchase price vs. restoration cost etc..

also a bit further down there was one in brissy for 1100 bucks, still rego'd (just)... cant remember the condition it is statd to be in tho..

thanks for the info mate personally id prefer a few broken bones then my kombi dead i miss it just annoyed i didnt get anything for my crash i was turning right my fault but didnt get hit at the intersection i crashed at so i dont see how my fault but once again big business kills the little guy i cant afford to take it to court

i have a 74 pop top if that is any help


pretty good body ,reco 1600 been sitting in my backpackers as staff accomodation for about 4 years

we are moving to an old pub around the corner so don't need it any more

at the moment i can proberly afford around the $1100 dollar mark trying to keep it low since i dont need a running vehicle just structually sound anything to fit my engine and gearbox in i pulled just about all i could off my other one bar suspension and brakes so looking for something rolling and cheap hehehe thanks again

I know of a red kombi pop top camper down Myponga way that is missing engine, gearbox and interior. The body was pretty straight with minimal rust. it was originally an 1800 manual. Give me a call if your interested and I will give you the guys details, I think he was asking around $1000
