Beetle Door Skins
Does anyone know where I can buy outer door skins for my 1956 Beetle, and if anyone has fitted them ? I heard the danish ones need alot of work to
suit.

I don't know where to get them, however whilst a genuine VW German doorskin will fit the best, it will be near imposible to get.
There are obviously these Danish ones available somewhere (or were available). All door skins take work to fit. If you haven't done them before,
there is a chance you can end up with scrap metal even if they are original German VW skins.
What I am trying to say is that "a fair bit of work to fit" is relative to your knowledge, experience and/ or skill. A good panel beater will still
be able to make the Danish ones fit if that is all that is available.

I havent seen a early door skin for years... I know later model ones are available but they will need fitting to suit pretty close and proablly
better than starting with a flat sheet of metal

Im trying to weigh up the cost of working the old doors back to shape, or cutting the old skins off and putting new ones on or getting another set of
doors, all this grief because i got my doors sandblasted and they warped the s**t ot of them because they didnt know what they were doing. An
expensive lesson learned the hard way, so kiddies dont sandblast your doors, or the skins anyway.
