Nice. I never seen a real one in the flesh. Heck of a long aerial and sticker collection there dude. Looks like a bit of a cold and foggy morning eh?

major sticker collection is right. everyone of my friends and family bring a sticker back from wherever they go and expect it to go onto the car. I
started putting a few on after i had gone to different places and they just decided to follow through!

Just one question though.
Why do you have wing mount indicators and also ones in the front bumper?

Every sticker tells a story! It's just a fun car so I let friends and family put on a sticker from wherever they go and then I do too so it's a
tradition now! Some day I'll have a looker that will be immaculate but this baby is a fun car and a keeper.

I was driving too fast, talking on the mobile and not noticing that the river I was driving beside had burst it's banks and then when I rounded the
corner i hit the water that had overflown! Interesting getting it out but it was like a cartoon cuz once i opened the doors the water flooded out! i
took out the plugs, turned the engine by hand and water poured out and then i fired it up. Good as new! ........well, apart from the interior, that
took alot more tlc to get back to it's original condition.

Easy answer - Budget! I didn't have the cash at the time to get a new stainless one and the replacement ones that were in my budget rust before you
can get them on the car!

The Gt was a limited edition that VW made in Europe. 2500 were made with close ratio gearboxes, 1600 engine and disc brakes.
The gear shifter is a wooden knob and chrome cover that is all one piece. It covers the standard gear stick and screws on. The wooden knob contains a
badge with a formula vee car and crossed checkered flags logo. The chrome cover is drilled out.
The GT Beetle was the only Beetle to actually be badged as a Beetle.
The badges came in matt black or silver and were fitted by the dealer. A number of owners decided to keep the european 1300S badge on their cars as it
lowered their insurance!
They also came with a tunnel tray that attached at the gearlever, elephant foot style rear lights and
Lemmertz GT Wheels (With Radial Tyres)

I think that should answer your question eh?

I still have the original Lemmertz wheels but i had to replace them as they were so badly damaged that I couldn't balance them. I hope in time to be
able to track down some replacements.

Thanks Rob. Yeah, the car is in the family for good. My 8yr old nephew asked can he have it when I die! I hadn't really been thinking that way but
obviously he is planning ahead! Little does he know but at the rate I'm getting work done it may not be ready by the time he's ready to drive.
