The Sydney Morning Herald had a front page picture last week of a burned out mid '70s Passat, wrecked in the bombing.

That's also a shame.

I saw a charred Beetle the other night in Iraq.. 60's model.. Looked nice and slammed..

Maybe it was the lack of tyres.. :D

I think '70s Passats are neat. It's a huge pity that LNC Industries had their heads up their bums and priced them off the market. Their dynamics were WAY better than the competition - remember the other medium cars on the market in 1974? Gemini, Corona, 200B, Cortina...

Gimme a Passat over those any day.
