help with pricing a 1966 vw beetle

Hi I was just wondering if anyone could help me with a pricing for my baby. I cant take it to the insurance people because they have no idea!!! It's a Red 1966 vw beetle, in vgc, original grey leather seats in vgc, cd player with 2 kenwood speakers, plus 2 extra speakers, folding down back seat-to flat bed, plus four extra tires (9 in total plus spare) and a detatchable roof rack. She is very well looked after no dints no rust.No RWC.Also a few extra vw hub caps.Recent full service, new battery. It does have personalised number plates (VW 1966) but I dont know if they will be sold with the car.Plus vw service books included (x2) If anyone could help me out that would be great. 48000k 2dr sedan. Porshe Red, 2pac paint. small neon in front under dash.,interior light working, 4 speed man

Maybe around $2-4k. Rego will help you get more.

might help us if you posted a pic. Has to be under 50kb in size.

I gather it's the original motor?

BTW, the plates might be worth another $500 possibly if you sold them with the car.

Shannons insurance will value the vehicle for you if you take it there. They are Auctioneers and Valuers as well as insurance.

:sandrinehey thanks, all the tyres are thin, and the extra 4 are very new.I would throw them in anyway its not like i need them if i sell the car. I dont have a buyer as yet I am just asking around for pricing so I can get an idea. It has rego up until august and was road worthied bout 4-5 years ago. I am in Ferntree gully melbourne victoria. I will take some pics tonight and post them tomorrow. It does need a new drivers side seat belt, the handles wont stay on and one door doesnt have a skin, original motor but it was just worked on a fair bit. My number plates are - VW 1966. Its in pretty good condition. Inside and out. As far as I know there is no rust my volksy guy said he hasnt spotted any.He agrees that its in good condition. he valued it at $5,500 with the plates but he said that I should ask around.get abit more of an idea

Sound like a good price to me. With rego and good paint I would have said between 4 and 6k. The plates will be gravy to a real enthusiast. I post it on here for $6500 and than be prepared to negotiate.
