Here is a good VW History site...

Early history right up to present day...

Interesting to see late model water cooled VWs have a bad reputation for reliability and workmanship in the USA due to the Rabbit [Golf] and Jettas being made in the Mexican factory..
New Rabbits [New Golf GTI Mk5] and Jettas are now made in Germany .... instead of Mexico...

New engine in process: 94mm p&bs, 74mm C/w chomol Crank, 35.5x39 SP heads, turbo. Wierd combo, hopeful torque monsta!
