WTB: Type 3 bits, still really need them!
Hey everyone,
I still really need the following bits for my '69 Fastback (1600 engine if that makes a difference) a.s.a.p:
- 2nd-hand muffler in good condition
- 2nd-hand left-hand-side heater box in good condition
- 2x plastic brakelight covers in very good condition *FOUND NEW*
- full set of window rubber seals *FOUND NEW*
- full set of body seals *FOUND NEW*
I'm in Melbourne, so am happy to pick up if you have any of the above... or I'll pay postage if you want to send to me. u2u is best way to contact

I have a Passenegr Heater Box S/H $25 for you.
I also have a standard S/H Muffler, I am not sure you can get these new anymore $75 for you.
Let me know if you want them. COD Post may be the easiest way.

Ho PBB,
Photos are not really going to show you anything, they are both in running condition, but no doubt when you start your motor for the first time and
run it a whole heap of rusty dust will bow out.

Yes,
A VW muffler only has to be used for a short time....
and all the paint peels off....
and they look crappy....
as they do get very hot...
I painted My New muffler and heater boxes with silver metallic heat proof paint...
it all peeled off the Muffler in a week....
I've repainted it with POR15....
and Laura
the 69 is My favorite type 3...
early bumpers large over riders
I love em....
are You going to put type 3 badges on it...
I had a 1971 model years ago
and bought 2x type 3 badges to put on the front guards...
as some type 3's did come with them...
although they weren't that common in Australia

'69 is my fave Type 3 now too... :P Apparently they have all the good bits!
I won't be putting extra badges on it though, it's not going to have any bling at all. PBB is the Bling Machine!

I have a good left heater box, but it's in Syd. I imagine freight might be prohibitive...that is, it would cost more to send it than it's worth!
Happy to send it though if you're absolutely stuck.

Hi there, I have a muffler, 1600 Liestritz, good used, only been on a car 2000 miles before the car rolled(38 years ago). still has most of paint on
it, you will have to get the heater boxes for cylinders 2&4 and also damper and tip. I have a nice late 1600 type 3 heater box. All no rot and bead
blasted if you require. Muffler$200, heater box $100, bead blasting $50, delivery to your door$25(adelaide to melbourne).

The type 3 wing badges were only on the later model from about 71 I believe.
