68 beetle, 170hp nearly finished project, WITH PICS!!
I am in a position where i am having to sell my project car due to the fact I will have to move a long way for work in the very near future. The car
is complete and drivable, and only needs minor work to finish completly. Would much prefer to sell the car complete but may split if I have to.
Engine....
2165cc
Welded and Nitrided 78mm crank
Scat Rods
Engle Cam
94mm B pistons
CB oil pump
Scat Lifters
Empi Deep sump
CB Wedgeport CNC machined Cylinder heads
Chromemoly pushrods
Bolt up rocker shafts
Straight Cut gears
Kennedy Stage 1 and 4 puck
1 3/4 Full Merge Ceramic coated Header and 2.5inch ceramic turbo muffler
36hp doghouse shroud
Breather Box
New 009, tayor leads
Autometer Oil pressure Gauge
Holley Fuel Reg With gauge and speedflow fittings
Weber Fuel Pump
And nearly $400 worth of ARP 12 pt head nuts and washers!!!
Engine Would make around 170 hp and is very streetable.
Currently has 48idas but these are not included in sale. Other than carbs engine is 100% complete and can be test driven by serious buyers. Has hardly
been driven but goes HARD! should be good for 12's in the right car.
Car Is a 68 beetle, has had rust repaired (one very small spot left in nose) floor pans completly rust free and original. Has
Kafer Cup Bar
Moore Mid Mount
New shocks all round
New Running Boards
New WCM rubbers
New Sunvisors and clips
Monster Tach with billet aluminium dash mount
CSP Germany Stainless Steel Shifter, And bushings replaced
Dragway Alloys
Nice Recaro style seats.
Owes Well over $8000 in parts not including the car!
will let go for $6000 negotiable
I will consider separating, or keeping certain parts like the shifter tacho etc,
but would prefer to sell as whole unit.
Serious Enquiries please contact Owen on 0413266808

Not interested in separating small stuff out of the car yet. But the tacho was around $300 and the billet mount about $120.

This is cheap! I have almost the same motor and its cost me almost double the asking price for the motor alone. bargain.

I started it up today again after checking the tappets and it sounded so sweet I didnt want to sell it, but unfortunatly thems the breaks.....
Ill admit i got a good deal on a lot of parts in the engine but turbo54 is correct, to replicate this motor would cost quite a bit, it cost me more
than the asking price at any rate, I should add that these are the heads that the yanks say are good for 200hp, so there may be more in the motor if
the cam and compression were increased. As It is now the compression is even turbo friendly, due to the fact the CNC machined chambers are so large, I
forget the exact comp but its a bit under 8.5:1 It runs a tight deck as well at 055". Camshaft is not massive either. If I kept it a draw through
holley turbo setup was next on the list....
I know its cheap but if you want to sell something the price has to be right!
