Standard box Swing axle, I wasnt going to spend any money on a box until i had run the car and new excactly what gears etc i needed. This one drives fine, shifts nicely, but if the engine goes separtly the gearbox stays with the car.

How hard would it be to fit in a kombi?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, and in good condition- but rather tossed in sideways - Beer in one hand - chocolate in the other - body totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride"

Would fit in a kombi the same as any 1600 style kombi motor, with the upright beetle style fan. Its about the same width as a stocker so width wouldnt be an issue, You would just need the kombi breastplate to seal it all up, i think anyway, im not a kombi expert. It would actually work ok in a kombi, the compression and camshaft arent too wild.
