Front bump stops
Has anyone replaced these when they lowered their Type3 BJ front end because of heavy contact? My rubbers have been destroyed and now occasionally
hits metal to metal.
If you have, what did you use and where (what car) did you get them from? Just thought I'd ask before I go hunting at the wreckers.
Thanks,
Mick.

I took the top suspension stops, the ones that stop metal to metal, when you jack it up, and used them as bump stops. dropped 3 splines, and have a
poofteenth of travel, think the uppers are a bit softer.. Haven't done a lot of miles yet tho, might need to have some spares, and I need to replace
them, as I now have metal to metal on the upper stops. Does that make any sense?

Yup, see what ya mean. I'll try it out in the daylight, when I come off graveyards (next weekend).
Thanks!
Mick.

It'll be a little hard to get to I guess, being the full bodied Sabre. Good luck.

The stops aren't hard to get to. I'm thinking of just cutting the old stubs off, drilling and bolting on new ones from a late model wrecker car, as
I haven't heard from Leon about his replacement.
