kombi colour question

Hi people,
I know this should really go in painting and interior but I thought I would get a better idea in this section. I was thinking of painting my 1975 bus completely white then painting a purple pearl over the lower half of the van to give it a two tone effect. If I painted the purple pearl over the white would it go on as purple or clear? would it change colour when the sun hit it from a specific angle/direction or would it just spray on a light purple?

I really have no idea what to paint on my bus.

Thanks for any comments/opinions. They are all greatly appreciated

Maurice

I've seen a Beetle painted in white with purple-pearl... in the sun it looks awesome, but in the shade it sort of looks a dirty yellowy colour which was yukky. I've also seen a white with aqua-pearl and that had the same yellowy look in the shade.

I can't believe how hard it is to come up with an idea for a kombi that looks modern and cool but doesn't stick out like dogs b@@ls

Maybe a reverse two tone would look better.

What do you guys think of this?

Im biased but i recon there was some hot colours comeing out on the early BA falcons that convert real well onto kombis. i used the mandarin orange with a bright (blue)white and it stands out and gets heaps of looks without looking wrong. would love to see a bay kombi done in their blue with white.

that could definitely work. although my paintjob is pretty rough, you can see that their mandarin doesnt look out of place and gives the car a good freshen up at the same time.
