how to reset the odometer
im doin a complete engine rebuild and figured this would be a good option to reset the odometer to 00000 since the thing has probably been over once
or twice anyway, and resetting it will give me and everyone else a good idea of what the new setup and engine has done...
any ideas are great on the ' how to' part, im going to tackl this on the weekend,

When we got our trip meter speedo for the bus, I just carefully pushed the wheels to one side so they would release from the one next to it and
carefully turn it to 0. Then do the next wheel the same and so on. If you start from one end it works, and if you start from the other, they turn one
number over as you get to the next wheel. Also if you turn the wheels one way they appear to lock on 9's and turn each other over. You will have
plenty of fun, but it is not too hard. Just do not pull the wheels out. I just remember doing it a few ways and in the end it worked.

Yes,
I've done a few... VWs and Mitsubishis...
and My Son has done a lot of VW speedos...
He uses a cordless drill to wind the number over..
I've never seen Him do one so I'm not sure how its done..
I didn't have a problem, with any...
until I went to do My Beetle...
and the numbers ended up uneven...
which is terrible....
I eventually got it sorted...
I then done a KMH speedo which I decided to put in My Beetle...
but I didn't succeed with 00000...
I ended up with 65000 approx....
Frustrated... I left it there....
The car has only done a few hundred KMs since a very big restoration...
so, I am going to try again... soon...
I unscrew the bracket? that holds the small gear in place...

I also reset mine to 00000 miles when I rebuilt everything on the notchy. I used a drill to spin the drive gear from memory....
