Two compressors?
Today in Bunnings I saw a Trade air 2.5 hp 40 litre 12cfm compressor for $178. Now I know this isnt really big enough but I was wondering if you could
run two of these compressors in parallel and acheive satisfactory performance. It seems that once you go past this size compressor the price goes
through the roof. I'm not running a comercial shop just working on my cars so they wouldnt be putting in huge hours. Is this a feasible alternative
to one large unit?

you have to be careful because 12cfm is rated @ free to air not under load .Best bet go to a proper tool store.

I know this machine is under gunned but 3Hp 80litre 16cfm machines are $800+. What I'm wondering is will 2 smaller compressors working together
supply satisfactory volume and presure for spraying and running power tools etc.

Hmmmm kinda like using two Hyundai Excels to tow a caravan.

Hi I purchased a $170 compressor and the head stuffed up after 6 months and that was that  . Had I purchased a good one to start with it may have cost 800 but I would still have it and it would do all
work.
I hate myself when I buy cheap tools 
My ten cents worth. Buy quality!

I have had my $800 (1994) McMillan 16cfm compressor since 1994. Done about 40 or 50 spray paint resprays and used it to run airtools a LOT. Changed
the oil in it once, maybe I will change it again soon.

I got a neat little cheapo package, 2.5 HP, 40 ltr for $160 on special which included a 5 pc air tool kit, Got it from repco. Has treated me VERY
well... am very impressed with it. Handy thing ot have around the house, inflated tires, cleaned stuff, painted, degreased and even used a nail gun in
it and it worked great without loosing pressure to quickly before it has to 'repump'. Dad used the nail gun of course, and he used it more than me,
and he likes it very much too!
Matter of luck i guess...
