hiya Bob

I was wondering if there were others doing the thrash this afternoon. it's a ritual for me.

well the racecar is just about done, having vacumned out the two years worth of rat shit changed the turbo water return line, fixed reverse, bled the snotty looking fluid from the brakes and adjusted the swaybars, all that's left there is treating the slicks and washing the car and trailer.....

on my beetle- "bugsmoney" as the missus has labeled it, the rear discs are working, i put on a new steering wheel, drivers door mechanism and striker as well as door seal, the exhaust has been replaced, and respray finally sorted......the final thrash will see it rolling with polished fuchs', headlights refurbished and the interior needs it's first clean out in a very long time....

...run out of time to get the 1776 assembled:td:

see ya here:smilegrin:

okay...i love that name...bugsmoney

i had to drop an engine into Edith. Shes booked for tune and brakes. I have to clean her inside and out, tidy her up a bit (kids and crap...argh) smooth over her outside paint (mmm...brush strokes...) and hopefully...hopefully...maybe grab some bling in time to put it on her and head off friday (4th)....

On the other hand maybe I'll just go to valla as is, and pinch the bling off the other peoples rides...

cheers

I am putting a 56 beetle together.I bought the shell off ebay.It had not a nut, bolt, bracket, hinge, nothing!I started 4 weeks ago and had to go away for a week(work commitment) so times running out.So far i have replaced body heater channel bottoms, fibreglassed some pinholes in the pan, painted the pan with por 15,lowered the front and rear, fitted doors, new door rubbers, chased up some gaurds, widened the rears, welded up the blinker holes in the fronts, fitted front bumper, horn.
Type 3 rear drums,fitted new wheels cylinders,hand brake cables,accelerator cable.Motor is in.
Had to chase a few parts up this weekend, found a 57 big window in a farmers paddock and a shooting buggy with a oval dash!Has no roof any moor!got steering column, wiper assembly, rear bumper, ignition and wiper switches, door striker plates.
So left to do...-all of it! Need to bleed the brakes, rebuild the webers, plumb some fuel lines, fit front winscreen, plumb oil lines, fit bonnet and hinges, pass seat, glovebox and the more i think about it the more i seem to come up with.
A big thankyou to 68Autobug who has been helping out by wiring the car.Fanks Lee.

Yeah, I been thrashin', but not just for Valla. Lowered GTMac's WRX/Type 3 front, changed the oil in my Oval and put some work into my other Beetle. It was running rough; found a dud spark plug lead end. That was after trouble-shooting the fuel pump and fitting a new filter. Oh yeah, and I helped check out a DC that GTMac is thinking of buying. A big day, really...

Well i thought i was pretty well organised for Valla until i copped a stone chip which has made the existing (25cm) crack in the windscreen now well over half the length of the screen! What are the chances of getting it on the same height as the other??? So rather than take the chance its booked into Windscreens O'Brien's on Monday. Other than that all I've got to do is the bi-annual clean out of the glove box (Tends to only get done the week before Valla).
