Actually I'm a little annoyed the car isn't being offered here in AUS before being advertised for sale overseas. :cry
It would have been awesome to see this car stay in AUS.

Sounds like some guy got a rare and collectable bargain about 16 months ago from an elderly man who may not have known its worth and is now trying to
flog it off to the Poms for crazy bread. What do they call that.....low, greedy, opportuntistic, calculating....
It shouldn't be all about profit. He is asking 8000pounds, thats over 20grand in Oz terms, he probably paid under $4000 oz.:puke

Its not about jealousy, it really isn't...last I checked this was a general chat forum, not a for sale section....its been moved since my comments
were already posted, that is not my fault.
Nah it just gets me that people do this (buy cheap and then sell overseas), sure its available to people in Oz, but due to the price it really
isn't.
U seem pretty passionate about this car farkengruven, for a new poster.......
Anyho if the guy is going to get that sort of dough overseas, what does someone care that I have an opinion about it on a general chat section of a
forum, are we no longer allowed opinions unless they are what people want to hear...
My bet is some people agree with my comments but are unwilling to come forward due to fear of being lambasted by the guys obvious buddies on the
forum.
Given this has now been moved to the for sale section, feel free to delete my post, after the advert adheres to the rules of the buying and selling
section of course!

OK my opinion. Your entitled to say what you want, it will upset some people and not bother others. Me it does not bother.
Let me put it this way, if the old lady next door offered me her Hyundai for $4000 and it was worth $9000 (OK just an example I know its a Hyundai) it
would be in the paper for sale the next day.
Good on the seller, if you can make money then why not,and no one knows the circumstances for sale, maybe its to pay for a heart transplant so better
of not saying anything.
blah blah blah blah :kiss

It's like everything that gets put up for sale...MONEY TALKS,BULLSHIT WALKS. Let it go wherever the $$$$ take it. If YOU were the owner and had
to/wanted to sell it would you not want the best price??? If it goes overseas then unfortunately it's gone closer to where it came from in the first
place, where it will be looked after. Sad to see it go if it does but it's just a car...I WISH IT WAS MINE !!!!!!!!!!!!!:cry If i could i would buy it
yesterday...

Hey John,
Love to hear your opinion on things VW, but your moral opinions are yours and not of any real interest to most. Can we keep it interesting?
I'm sure most people here are interested in this thread for the ripper Fasty it refers to. Doesn't matter to most why it's for sale.

Actualy just looked at the fasty, orig. 27000 fully optioned, inported display car - perfect red int. the dash alone is worth a few dozen cartons -
about time people started asking what good type three is worth. Just ask bails what it costs to get one to that condition. .....

looking dash i have ever seen...if it really is under $20...its an absolute bargain!
I's far rather this than a new echo.
And no, im not bagging echos...its just if i had a choice, i knwo which ones keys would be in my hand bringing a smile to my face
dubless.
And who the helled parked the Mitsubishi "Prancer" under my

This gets up my nose! If you think this is too expensive then you can't afford it. What do you think about this then. I bought a block of land for
$32,000 and sold it for $42,000 18 months later. If I still owned that piece of dirt now it is valued at $220,000. That's life.
People will only pay what they perceive the value to be. Imagine how the Germans felt when they sent it to Australia. They sent it out here to promote
sales and hence make a profit on the cars they manufacured. I bet they weren't bitching about those Aussies stealing our cars. We all have opinions
of right and wrong and if this is what peves you most in the world then I am sorry to say you have a very narrow view of the world around you.
No malice intended

Considering there were only 1000ish pimped out red/brown/blue dash type 3s produced the owner can pretty much ask what he likes for it, im suprised
that noone has snapped it up.

this car
$15k to $20 k I think is the going rate for a car such as this. It would be a case of extreme luck had you have bought it from the original owner for
low$$. Guys, just to bring this into perspective, full import type 3's are rare beasts here in Aus and were either private imports, Tourist delivery
cars from Wolfsburg, first shipment cars and promo cars. One of these with 27k on the clock are even rarer. Therefore instantly you can safely say,
with a pristine body, you can save yourself at least $15k in quality body and paint(metal finish, rust repairs prep and decent paint). Then you have
motor and box and front end, there is $5k in NOS and new parts, Interior- $3k-$4k for a quality standard- you dont get factory
options-armrest-dash-interior colours etc , body rubber-there is another $2k-$4k for NOS. That is $28000 so far if you rebuilt a car to remotely close
standard. A rebuilt car also does not have what I call the 'timewarp factor', that is, the appeal of a clean original car... especially one with all
the options and a full special history is even better.
