Wow, some carzy stuff goes down on ebay.
I had a mate who found that he had a speed boat listed under his name with pics and all on ebay, only problem was that he doesnt own a speed boat and
he wasn't selling one on ebay....
My guess the direct deposit option wasn't to his account though:o

I have found ebay [Australia] to be very good, and getting better all the time
although it does seem to be a bit one sided.
A person can tell ebay anything and it usually ends up You having to clear Your own name
I've been lucky so far, as I've never sold anything on ebay, only bought, so when I was contacted about selling about 20 computers and stuff on ebay
and told the money was in My account, ebay believed My story.
I was contacted two days ago, thru what looked to be a genuine ebay email, from a bidder, asking if I still had the wheelchair I was selling on ebay,
as she was 89 years old.
I [Stupid] emailed back saying I never had a wheelchair on ebay, [I thought the emails where going thru ebay]
Yesterday, ebay contacted Me, saying My account had been compromised and had suspended My email account.
I had to contact ebay and change My password etc.
I also received an email from Paypal yesterday saying My account had been suspended and wanted info....
I sent these emails to spoof@ebay.com.au
and ebay replied that the two emails were NOT from ebay or paypal.
I had to go to ebay and change password etc.....
Does anyone else get these?
or am I lucky??
Sorry to get off the track a bit..
Lee

There is a lot of those scam e-bay e-mails getting around. They are like the bank e-mails. Have a look and see what the actual return address is. You
will find it is not actually e-bay. The other thing to see is that your actual username is not mentioned on the e-mail. E-bay has your username,
usually these scam e-mails do not.

I have had to close down an account, did not matter cos the bank account wasnt valid at the time, but someone was suggesting I had some old video
recording hardware...never seen it in my life! I used ebay to buy things not really sell. So would be buyers be careful what you bid for!

Yes I just looked again....
they only had My email address...
never mentioned My ebay username etc....
I'll have to look more closely....
My Son keeps telling Me not to answer them, but I usually do... but I won't anymore....
there seems to be many crooks who work on ebay....
I have been lucky, I've only NOT received one item that I've paid for on ebay, out of about 96...
and bought items from people after the item didn't sell...
or they said they had another item the same...
My Son bought a DVD after the auction, seller said He had more copies..... Never did receive it... never answered emails and is no longer an ebay
user....
Two of MY Sons have had problems with items received or not received..... on ebay...
there are many smart [computerwise] crooks who are trying to get your money all the time....
I've been busy lately changing all My passwords...
I thought it was great having only a couple of passwords..
but the banks & ebay-paypal say You should have a different password at all sites, otherwise, if someone breaks Your One password, they can get into
all Your Sites - accounts etc...
Who said using computers was easy??:P:P

I used to like ebay, then it changed for the worse. Tried to sell a car on ebay once in the uk, got an email from a guy willing to pay for it. so
pulled it off ebay burning another buyer in process. Cheque sent was a scam, they send you a cheque to pay for car and shipping, you forward shipping
cost on... then money dissapears from account, leaving you a couple of thousand out of pocket. luckily didnt fall for it as needed the money in my
account for my visa. told ebay about it, they really couldnt care less as I hadnt lost anything. Bit off topic but have no real trust in ebay any
more.

Yes, ebay is OK if everything goes to plan....
You buy or sell and everything goes right
but If You have a problem, it seems that whoever complains first... wins...
Another of My Sons, sold something on ebay, and the buyer said to send it by Courier to a Post Office Box number
[something that cannot be done.. in Australia]
the parcel went from Northern NSW to Melbourne
then a week or so later My Son received the parcel back.
He then posted the parcel to the PO box number.
In the meantime, the buyer complained and My Sons ebay account was cancelled.
and He had paid the Postage to Melb out of his own
pocket.
